Layout: As built (change it with the layout picker at the top; the page reloads).
Throttle: slide right to go forward, left to back up, centre (or STOP) to stop. Top speed is about 60 scale mph.
Two crossovers join the outer loop and the inner route (the one that climbs over the truss bridge).
A (outer loop, left side): going forward on the outer loop, diverge takes you through crossover 1 onto the inner route; straight stays on the outer loop.
D (inner route, left side, just past B): going forward on the inner route, diverge takes you off through crossover 2 back to the outer loop; straight keeps you circling the inner route.
C is where crossover 2 rejoins the outer loop — you only ever run through it trailing, so the train pushes C over for you.
B (where crossover 1 meets the inner route): going backward (reversing) on the inner route, diverge takes you back out through crossover 1 to the outer loop.
Trailing moves (running into a switch from one of its two legs) push the points over for you, like a spring switch,
and you'll see a toast saying so. Turn on Strict switches and the train stops instead when a switch is set against it.
Tap A, D (or the smaller B, C) at the bottom, or tap the switch stand / its label in the scene, to throw it. You can't throw a switch with the train on it.
Green target = straight, amber = diverge. The coloured strip between the rails shows the route the points are lined for.
Yard (yard layout): Y points face a train backing up. Run forward past Y, stop, set Y to yard and pick a track
with track 1 (Y1) or track 2 / 3 (Y2), then back in. The tracks end in bumpers; parked cars stop you short of them.
To pass the town and depot (yard layout), set A to take the train onto the inner route; the depot is just past the bridge.
Route preview highlights the next ~600 mm the train will take, stopping at any parked cars.
Map (top right): the red line is the train, the white arrow shows which way it's going, the blue line is the route ahead,
dashed lines are tunnels and the tan stretch is the bridge. Tap a switch dot on the map to throw it. Tap "Map" to fold it away.
Cameras: Cab looks down the track from the front of the loco (from the back of the last car when backing up);
Chase follows behind and waits at tunnel portals; Above follows from high overhead so you can watch the train go into the
mountain and come out; Overview is free orbit; Trackside watches from beside the underpass. Go to… jumps the overview camera to a named spot.
Sound starts off: tap the speaker to turn it on (phones need a tap first). Hold Whistle (Horn on the diesel) or press
the Space bar; Bell rings until you tap it again. You'll hear the exhaust or engine follow the throttle, the rail joints,
wheel squeal on tight curves, the echo in tunnels, and the countryside around you.
Overview: drag to orbit, pinch or scroll to zoom, two-finger drag to pan.
